In your first appointment, we will listen to your concerns and take a detailed case history. A thorough examination will take place, where we will observe and assess the way your body moves and feels, alongside performing any relevant tests.
A personalised treatment plan will then be made, where we will aim to reach your health goals.
We will always endeavour to provide hands on treatment on the day of your initial consultation, however please note if referral is indicated, this will be completed prior to any treatment. This may include x-rays and/or specialist/ GP.
Following treatment, you will be provided with home advice to help manage your issues. This may include injury management advice, exercise prescription or ergonomic workplace modifications.
Our number one priority is helping you achieve your optimal health.
Myotherapy
WHAT IS MYOTHERAPY?
Myotherapy focuses on the assessment, treatment and management of muscular pain and dysfunction. It involves various techniques, including manual soft tissue therapy, dry needling, cupping, stretching and exercise prescription.
Myotherapists aim to relieve pain, improve movement and enhance overall physical function. Common conditions seen include sports injuries, chronic muscle pain and postural issues.
Dry Needling
WHAT IS DRY NEEDLING?
Dry needling is a therapeutic technique used to treat musculoskeletal pain and myofascial dysfunction. It involves the insertion of thin needles into trigger points in muscles, which can help alleviate pain, reduce muscle hypertonicity and promote healing.
Dry needling focuses on Western anatomical and physiological principles, unlike acupuncture which is based on traditional Chinese medicine. Dry needling is utilised by both Emily-Rose and Sam within their treatments when clinically indicated, and only with patient consent. It is extremely effective with conditions such as chronic muscle tension, headaches and sports injuries.
